Depths Silver Strand Book 2 edition by Steph Campbell Liz Reinhardt Literature Fiction eBooks

With two wonderfully solid authors in Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt, I would have been incredibly surprised if this second instalment in the series, Depths had not been good. Once again, however, the characters were well written, the storyline believable and engrossing and the chemistry - hot!
Gorgeous, talented and selfless Maren was due some happiness in her life. She had operated in the shallow depths of all her relationships in order to stay well protected from hurt for many years. The one man, her father, who should have been her protector and provider, caused her the most angst and sadness, even over her dead-beat, cheating boyfriend.
Sexy, kind and intelligent Cohen Rodriguez held fast to predictability - in his superficial girlfriend and in his family business position, in which he was completely over-qualified. In both situations, he lacked motivation for change and desire to step away from what was easy.
Despite the warm friendship formed from their telephone conversations throughout the last 12 months, nothing prepared Maren and Cohen for their first face-to-face meeting. The attraction was instant and the draw to each other captivating. Suddenly shallow and easy was no longer an option, and along with some boundary pushing, came sizzling hot encounters and a radical new outlook on life - together, not alone.
Switching POV each chapter was a wonderful tool allowing the reader to get inside the heads of the H & h. I had expected a little more tension and conflict from the ex's. The wanting of more was not because the story was lacking, but rather because I just wanted more to read! I am a fan of Epilogues, so was thankful that we were given a brief glimpse of the future.
With superb writing, a compelling story, witty dialog and a few delicious sex scenes, I loved Depths. Any person who enjoys New Adult Contemporary romance will enjoy this book. (But you might, like me, have wanted more!!! Greedy little reader that I am!)

Depths Silver Strand Book 2 edition by Steph Campbell Liz Reinhardt Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Maren and Cohen are two characters that are living their lives for other people. When their paths cross the attraction is there even if neither of them are willing to do anything about it. But when things in their lives begin to change the pull they both feel towards one another is impossible to ignore.

This is a fabulous love story with plenty of steam. With the depth of feeling that these two have for each other it is inevitable that they get together. I felt that this story's message was that you sometimes need the help of others to reach for your dreams.

I loved that Deo and Whit both featured pretty heavily in this book, I'd missed them!
Depths is book 2 in the Lengths series by Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt. It's a quick, light read that has the right amount of love and friendship.

Cohen has just been dumped by his longtime girlfriend and is back out on the dating scene and having the worst luck. Maren has dropped out of school and is working full time to take care of her alcoholic father. Cohen and Maren have spoken over the phone numerous times and have developed a nice friendship but when the two of them finally meet, their chemistry is undeniable.

We also get a bit more of Deo and Whit in this book and I am happy that there was a lot less unnecessary cursing in this one. I look forward to more from this series and Steph & Liz. They work well together!

I love these authors together. I love the way they tell a story. It's like the characters are talking to you.

I find myself laughing as I read the story. Poor Cohen, some people call him everything but his name. I did want to slap Maren when he defended her and she got all upset about it. The idiot who insulted her not only insulted her but used a racial slur against Cohen. I wanted Cohen to beat him to a pulp.

I loved this book. Cohen can be a bit intense bit he meals well. Loved that Deo and Whit were in this one. The epilogue made me teary eyed. There a few mistakes here and there but it doesn't take from the story. Towards the end there's a sentence were it should say Cohen and it says Deo instead. Guess the authors were thinking of Deo.

Loved this book. I got the next one. Can't wait to read it. Hope there are more to come. Highly recommend it.
If you've read Lengths, you will enjoy this book. I actually liked this book a little better than Lengths but I'm happy that Deo and Whit make a few appearances in this book. As always Deo is extremely funny and provides great comic relief.

I like that the story was told form both Cohen's and Maren's POV. This helped me to understand the thoughts that both characters were going through. I absolutely LOVED Cohen. He was a gentlemen throughout the book and I found myself being drawn to him. I will be honest--I didn't really like Maren. I kind of wish he found someone with a bit more character development. She was flawed and that's fine, but some the choices and her thought process left me annoyed with her.

This book does use more mature language there are more steamier scenes than I remember reading in Lengths. I'd recommend this book. It was a light read and I finished it quickly.
I must confess that I haven't read the previous book in the series, but I didn't feel lost at all.

I enjoyed getting to know Cohen and Maren. They were gorgeous characters. I loved how their relationship developed over the phone, until Maren invited Cohen out on a blind date. That was humiliating in the extreme and I couldn't believe the outcome!

Where I got frustrated with the story was the uncertainty of Maren. On one hand, she has kept a voice recording of Cohen on her phone because she has feelings for him. On the other, she takes a really long time admitting her feelings for him and dumping her a$$ of a boyfriend! Maren even admits to herself that she can't stand Jason.

There are a lot of feelings with this story. An alcoholic father, parents high expectations of their children, getting back into the dating game when dumped by a long term partner, unrequited love, you name it, this story has it!

Good little reading investment!
